No. 16 BC Rolls Yale, Improves to 4-0

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The No. 16 Boston College
women's lacrosse team improved to 4-0 on the season with a 18-4
non-conference victory over Yale at Reese Stadium on the campus of
the university on Wednesday afternoon.
Senior Kristin Igoe led the offensive attack for Boston College
with five goals, while freshman Moira Barry added four goals.
Junior Brittany Wilton added two goals and three assists.
Igoe gave Yale fits from the start of the game. The Framingham
native scored five goals while Barry notched three as Boston
College took an 11-0 first half lead. The Eagles outshot the
Bulldogs, 16-2 in the first half.
Yale scored the first two goals of the second half but BC's Jill
Amo and Sam Taylor tallied goals to keep the Eagles in control,
13-2. Yale came back again with two more goals to cut into the
Eagles lead, 13-4.
Boston College responded with five straight goals to earn the win.
In the five goal run, Barry tallied her fourth goals, while
sophomore Brooke Blue (three goals) notched a goal and an assist
and Wilton added one goal and two assists.
The two teams had 10 shots each in the second half, though the
Eagles put eight on goal to Yale's six.
BC goalkeeper Sheila Serafino, a senior, had four saves in her
fourth victory of the season. BC outshot the Bulldogs, 26-12, in
the game.
The Eagles next match is on Saturday, March 5 as BC will head to
Worcester to play at Holy Cross (3 p.m.).
