from press release
VESTAL, N.Y. - The Marist women's lacrosse team
won their second game of the young season with a 14-10 victory over
Binghamton University. Juniors Kelly Condon (Roslyn, Pa.) and Ariel
Kramer (Syracuse, N.Y.) led the Red Foxes' offensive attack with
their 11 combined points. Condon had three goals and three assists,
while Kramer had five goals.
After a slow offensive start with only one Binghamton goal in the
first eight plus minutes of play, junior Kelly Condon (Roslyn, Pa.)
kicked the Red Foxes' offense into gear with her goal off an Ashley
Miller (Montville, N.J.) assist at 21:43. 80 seconds later junior
Shannon Haas (Farmingdale, N.Y.) notched her first goal of the year
to put Marist ahead 2-1. Binghamton's Lindsay Angelillo responded
just 11 seconds later to tie the score. A Kramer goal at 17:49
began a 6-0 run for Marist over the next 12:21. Goals during the
run were scored by sophomore Amanda Tuck (Mamaroneck, N.Y.), junior
Jori Procaccini (Long Valley, N.J.), Condon and two more by Kramer.
A late Binghamton goal closed out the half at a score of 8-3.
Coming out after half, Marist reached their largest leading margin
of six again with a goal by freshman Jamie Romano (Kings Park,
N.Y.). Soon after, a 3-0 run by Binghamton closed the gap to three
at 9-6 with 20:49 remaining. Condon's third goal of the game at the
19:00 mark stretched the score to 10-6. Two quick Bearcat goals by
Katherine Hunsberger gave Binghamton their closest margin since
15:24 in the first half. Marist closed out the final nine minutes
of the game outscoring their opponent three goals to two.
Procaccini completed the third Marist hat trick of the day with two
goal tallies during this span.
When the 60 minutes of action was complete Marist had secured their
fifth straight victory over Binghamton by a score of 14-10.
The Red Foxes will next be in action on Wednesday, March 9 as they
travel to Albany for a 3 p.m. contest.
