Devils Beat Hose in Battle of the Blues

The Central Connecticut women's lacrosse team opened its season
on Sunday with a 11-8 victory over Presbyterian. The win
starts the Blue Devil season off at 1-0. Sophomore Meaghan
McCurry scored a game-high four goals for the Blue Devils and also
had an assist.
The Blue Devils trailed the Blue Hose 5-2 at the half, but the Blue
Devils score nine times in the second half to take a 11-8
victory.
Senior Michele Conway, sophomore Mackenzy Ryan and junior Ashley
Mara all scored a pair of goals for the Blue Devils. Freshman
Amanda Toke had the final Blue Devil goal.
Sophomore Besty Vendel spread the ball around collecting five
assists. Junior goalkeeper Erin Delancey made 12 saves
in the net. As Central outscored the Blue Hose 9-4 in the
second half.
The Blue Devils return to action on Wednesday when they host their
first home game of the season.
