O'Reilly Joins Georgetown Staff

WASHINGTON – Georgetown head coach Ricky
Fried has added former Hoya standout Bunny O'Reilly to the staff
for the 2011 season. O'Reilly will come on as a volunteer assistant
coach, taking over for Stefanie Sparks, who was in the role for
three seasons.
"Bunny has a great knowledge of the Georgetown system and brings a
wealth of experience to the team," said Fried. "Her familiarity
with the program will make for a seamless transition and we will be
looking to her to work with the younger players on a one-on-one
basis."
O'Reilly began her career as an attacker and moved to the midfield
for her final season. She scored 44 career goals and posted 21
assists for 74 points. After moving into the midfield, she became
more active on the defensive end as well with 47 ground balls, 33
caused turnovers and 40 draw controls. O'Reilly started in 49 of 61
games player in her career.
The Philadelphia, Pa., native is finishing up a master's degree in
Georgetown's Public Policy Institute. She received her
undergraduate degree in the spring of 2009.
Prior to Georgetown, O'Reilly was a three-sport athlete at
Springside School where she played lacrosse, soccer and squash.
O'Reilly resides in Washington, D.C.
The Hoyas will open practice for the 2011 season next week.
Georgetown will host Northwestern on March 5 at Multi-Sport
Field.
