Colleluori Classic Women's Field Set

The HEADstrong Foundation is very pleased to announce that the
2nd annual Nick Colleluori Women's Classic will be held on Saturday
September 25, 2010 at Hofstra University. The Hofstra women's
lacrosse program will once again honor a former student and member
of the Hofstra men's lacrosse team, Nicholas "HEAD" Colleluori by
hosting a 15-team collegiate fall tournament benefiting the
HEADstrong Foundation.
This year the Foundation welcomes the following colleges and
universities to our Team of Champions in the fight against blood
cancer:
Adelphi
Bentley
C.W. Post
Connecticut
Hofstra
Iona
La Salle
Long Island
Long Island Squids
Massachusetts
New Hampshire
New York Athletic Club
Stonehill
Temple
Vermont
The game schedule for the event will be posted when it is
available.
The mission of the HEADstrong Foundation
(www.headstrongfoundation.org) is to raise public awareness about
the disease while raising funds for blood cancer research,
treatment, and ultimately a cure. Last year the tournament raised
over $30,000 in an effort to support this mission. Current
statistics indicate that every 4 minutes someone is diagnosed with
blood cancer and every 5 minutes someone loses their battle to this
disease. That means that during the course of the tournament, 96
people will die because of this disease and 120 people will be
newly diagnosed.
