Dove, Hilling Again Honored by Big East

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – For the second consecutive week,
Syracuse senior midfielder Christina Dove has earned BIG EAST
Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Notre Dame rookie Ellie
Hilling earned BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week.
Dove earns BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week honors for the
second consecutive week. She totaled 13 points, including seven
goals, as well as eight draw controls in a pair of contests last
week. In a 17-10 win against Rutgers on March 28, Dove had four
goals and four assists, along with five draw controls. The senior
also registered five points and three draw controls in a 17-10 loss
against then-No. 16/11 Dartmouth on March 24. This is her third BIG
EAST Offensive Player of the Week award this year.
Hilling earns BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week honors for the
second consecutive week. The rookie totaled 17 saves, including 12
in an 11-9 conference-opening win over Louisville on March 27.
Hilling had eight stops in the first half alone. Earlier in the
week she had five saves in a 10-9 loss to then-No. 12/10
Vanderbilt. Hilling also scooped up three ground balls against the
Commodores. For the week she recorded a 9.50 goals-against average
and a .477 save percentage.

Had four ground balls and one caused turnover in an 11-10

Cincinnati, So., A
Totaled 12 points, including 11 goals in a 2-1 road trip;
had five points, including four goals in a 12-7 win at St. Mary's
(Calif.)

TEWAARATON TROPHY WATCH LIST – Eight BIG EAST
players have been named as part of the 52-player Tewaaraton Watch
List. Georgetown leads the league with three nominees. The 2010
award will be presented on June 3, 2010 at the Smithsonian National
Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C.
Players from BIG EAST schools include: Molly Ford, Ashby Kaestner
and Jordy Kirr (Georgetown); Shaylyn Blaney and Gina Scioscia
(Notre Dame); Christina Dove and Liz Hogan (Syracuse) and Bergan
Foley (Louisville).
CONFERENCE PLAY HEATING UP – With Connecticut and Cincinnati
set to begin league play this week, every team in the BIG EAST will
have recorded at least one conference game.
