Monmouth's Mundorf Earns NEC Salute

SOMERSET, N.J. - MU goaltender Kirby Mundorf
(Catonsville, Md./Seton Keogh) has been named Northeast Conference
Defensive Player of the Week, conference officials announced on
Monday.
Mundorf earns her first weekly award after helping the Hawks to a
pair of wins, including a 11-7 win over NEC rival Mount Saint
Mary's on Friday. The junior averaged 8.50 goals against in two
games, making 27 saves, including 14 in Monmouth's 12-10 non-league
victory over Binghamton. Mundorf also had four ground balls and a
.614 save percentage on the week.
She is averaging better than eight saves per game in a league-high
470 minutes between the pipes. The Catonsville, Md., native is the
first Monmouth player to win a weekly conference award in the 2010
season.
The Hawks, who are winners of three straight, are back on the field
on Friday when they host Robert Morris at 3 p.m.
