Fairfield Women Sweep MAAC Awards

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - For the second consecutive week, and
the third time this season, the Fairfield University women's
lacrosse team received the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference
(MAAC) Lacrosse League Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week
awards. Kristen Coleman (Potomac, Md.) was named the Offensive
Player of the Week, while Chloe Mangan (Sayville, N.Y.) earned the
Rookie accolade for the third time in five weeks.
Coleman, a junior, earns her first weekly award of the season after
leading the Stags with 12 points in two games. In a win over Cal
she tallied her first eight-point game of the season, scoring six
times and handing out two assists. In a double-overtime game with
Lehigh she had four goals. For the week, Coleman added five draw
controls and was a perfect 3-3 in free position shots. Coleman
moved into the lead in all three offensive categories on the team
this week, tallying 25 goals, six assists and 31 points.
Mangan, a graduate of St. Anthony's High School, tallied five
points on the week, as well as controlling five draws, and causing
three turnovers. She touched net three times in the double-overtime
game with Lehigh, also winning four draws in that contest. In the
win over Cal, Mangan tallied two goals to go along with a draw
control and caused turnover. She is third on the team with 16
points and is second with 17 draw controls.
Fairfield, 5-2 on the year, is back in action on Sunday, March 28
as it travels to #20 New Hampshire for a noon contest.
