Dove, Hilling Earn Big East Women's Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Syracuse women's lacrosse senior
Christina Dove has been named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the
Week, while Notre Dame rookie Ellie Hilling has been named the BIG
EAST Defensive Player of the Week.
Dove totaled 10 points, including nine goals along with 10 draw
controls in a 2-0 week for the Orange. Dove had four goals and an
assist in a season-opening 17-5 win against Colgate on Feb. 19. In
a 16-7 win over then-No. 13/12 Stanford on Feb. 21, Dove had five
goals and six draw controls. Four of her goals against the Cardinal
came in the first half. The senior has scored a goal in 42
consecutive games.
Hilling made eight saves in a 7-6 triple overtime win at then-No.
11/12 Boston University on March 21. She played all 71:22 of the
contest, and made a point-blank save with 1:44 left in the second
overtime to preserve a 6-6 score. The rookie goalkeeper also had
four ground balls and one caused turnover.

Totaled nine points, including six goals, in a 2-0 week for the
Greyhounds; had five points in league opener against Rutgers
Bergan Foley, Louisville, Junior, Attack
Had seven goals in the Cardinals' only contest last week, a 20-13
loss at then-No. 14/15 Vanderbilt
Ana Heneberry, Loyola, Sophomore, Defense
Anchored the defense in a 2-0 week; allowed an average of 7.0 goals
per game. Led the team with six caused turnovers
Liz Hogan, Syracuse, Junior, Goalkeeper
Totaled 25 saves in a 1-1 week; had 14 saves in an 18-10 win over
then-No. 10/10 Towson, 11 saves vs. No. 1/1 Northwestern
Rachel Lasda, Villanova, Junior, Midfield
Registered seven points, including six goals, in a 1-1 week; had
three goals and an assist in a 20-5 win over Iona

Tewaaraton Trophy "Watch List – Eight BIG EAST
players have been named as part of the 52-player Tewaaraton Watch
List. Georgetown leads the league with three nominees. The 2010
award will be presented on June 3, 2010 at the Smithsonian National
Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C.
Players from BIG EAST schools include: Molly Ford, Ashby Kaestner
and Jordy Kirr (Georgetown); Shaylyn Blaney and Gina Scioscia
(Notre Dame); Christina Dove and Liz Hogan (Syracuse) and Bergan
Foley (Louisville).
