Rutgers Snaps Denver's Winning Streak

DENVER - No. 20 Rutgers defeated DU 11-8 on
Saturday afternoon at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium, ending the
Pioneers' five-game win streak.
The Pioneers were led offensively by senior midfielder Ali Flury
(Arnold, Md.), who had two goals for Denver, giving her a team-high
25 goals on the season.
Denver and Rutgers battled for the lead in the first half, and
entered halftime tied 5-5. The Scarlet Knights limited the Pioneers
to just three goals on 15 shots in the second half, while adding
six of their own to earn the victory.
Senior Lexi Sanders (Greenwood Village, Colo.) had two assists,
while six other Pioneers added goals. Denver outshot Rutgers 34-28,
and led in ground balls 16-15.
Brooke Cantwell led the Scarlet Knights with four goals, while
Annie McGinley had two assists. Rutgers goalie Lily Kalata made 14
saves in 60 minutes of play.
