Duquesne Dominates Detroit Mercy, 20-4

PITTSBURGH -- Meghan Frederick and Katie Rekart scored four goals each and Kat McNish added three as the Duquesne lacrosse team defeated Detroit Mercy 20-4 on Friday afternoon at Rooney Field.

The Dukes (3-5) set a program record with 52 shots in the win.

DU led from start-to-finish as Rekart scored the first two goals of the contest. The Titans' Erin Campbell got UDM on the board at the 25:39 mark before Duquesne scored seven straight goals to take a 9-1 lead.

Detroit's Emily Boissonneault would scored back-to-back goals before Casey Denk and Laura Aeschbacher would close out the half with DU leading 11-3.

Duquesne held the Titans scoreless in the second half until the 28 second mark when Corina Mahorn scored the final goal of the game.
