Saints Beat IUP; No. 3 Lock Haven Next

GAFFNEY, S.C. — The No. 4-ranked Limestone College
women's lacrosse team flew by the Crimson Hawks of the Indiana
University of Pennsylvania with a 19-4 victory on Thursday
afternoon at Saints Field. The Saints improve to 6-0 on the year as
IUP stands at 1-1.
Limestone was led by Renee Albro's (Purcellville, Va.) seven goals.
Chelsea Treat (Penn Yan, N.Y.) scored four goals while Raquel
Prager (Seaford, N.Y.), Jessica Williams (Farmingdale, N.Y.), and
Britt Howard (Oswego, N.Y.) had two goals apiece. Chelsea Hargett
(Ithaca, N.Y.) and Kristen DeMarzi (Huntington, N.Y.) also scored
in the win. Casey Wilcox (Liverpool, N.Y.) tallied two assists.
Skylar Marcoux (Woodbine, Md.) had two caused turnovers. Albro had
a team-high five draw controls. Saint goalkeeper Brigid Milchling
(Cockeysville, Md.) made eight saves and picked up three ground
balls.
Alexa Lodovici (Voorhees, N.J.) scored three of IUP's four goals.
Sara DeMaio (West Chester, Ohio) won six draw controls as Corinne
Miller (Hamburg, N.Y.) recorded four ground balls. Goalie Kaitlin
Sterling (Cranberry Township, Pa.) posted 12 saves.
Limestone outshot the Hawks 36-16 and had 14 ground balls to the
visitors' 11. The Saints won 13 of the game's 24 draw controls and
were 13-14 in clears. IUP was 6-12 on its clear attempts.
Limestone hosts No. 3 Lock Haven on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Saints
Field. Limestone is 5-4 all-time against Lock Haven and is 2-2
against the Eagles at Saints Field. LHU knocked the Saints out of
the 2009 national tournament with a 13-12 victory in Salem, Va.,
during the NCAA semifinals in May. In their last meeting in Gaffney
in March 2009, Limestone edged LHU 11-10.
