Secora Named MPSF Player of the Week

DENVER – Sophomore Kara Secora (Denver,
Colo.) earned Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Player of the Week
honors, the MPSF announced today.
Secora had a hat trick with two of the goals, including the
game-winner, coming in overtime, as the Pioneers upset No. 9 Loyola
on March 3.
Secora followed it up with two goals and two assists in DU’s
victory over Holy Cross on March 5.
Secora is tied with teammate Bonnie Wells (Adelaide, Australia) for
the MPSF lead with two game-winning goals. Secora is also ranked
seventh with 0.88 assists per game and tied for ninth with 2.75
points per game.
This marks the third time this season that a Denver player has
claimed MPSF Player of the Week honors. Sophomore midfielder Lauren
Ciccomascolo (Ladera Ranch, Calif.) earned the award on Feb. 1, and
senior midfielder Lexi Sanders (Greenwood Village, Colo.) won on
Feb. 15.
The Pioneers enjoy some time off before resuming play against No.
20 Rutgers at Peter Barton Stadium on March 20 at 1 p.m. MT.
