WHO'S BACK
G Erin Tochihara (Jr.)
Toch inspires confidence following a second team
All-American campaign with a .530 save percentage. Rangy and
athletic in the cage.
M Lizzy Drumm (Jr.)
A complementary component in Princeton's offense the last
two years, Drumm will be looked upon to quarterback the team in
2010. Scored five goals in Princeton's NCAA quarterfinal loss to
Northwestern.
A Kristin Morrison (Sr.)
Boasts the hardest shot on the team, which yielded 27
goals in '09.
D Lindsey DeButts (So.)
Stepped up in a big way as a freshman, starting all 18
games with 22 GBs, 24 DCs and 16 CTs.
M/A Cassie Pyle (So.)
Note Princeton's losses below, particularly at midfield, and
recognize just how much more the Tigers will need from Pyle, who
started 14 games and scored 15 goals in '09.
WHO'S NOT
M Holly McGarvie
Princeton's exodus at midfield starts with this tenacious
U.S. World Cup team member.
M Kristin Schwab
Team-leading 41 goals are not easily replaced.
M Christine Casaceli
Though they never won a national championship, Casaceli,
Schwab and McGarvie were four-year starters whose impact on the
program will be sorely missed.
M Katie Cox
Defensive midfielder was opportunisitic on the other side of the
restraining line, netting 10 assists in transition situations.
D Marie McKenna
Tough-nosed defender (44 fouls) was menacing inside the
fan.
WHO'S NEW
M Jackie Klauberg
Two-time US Lacrosse high school All-American was considered one
of the top recruits coming out of New England, where she was also
an accomplished basketball player (1,000-plus career points). She
was also a two-time Women's Division National Tournament
participant.
M Caroline Rehfuss
Passed up opportunity to play alongside her sister, Abby,
at Loyola. If talents translate, Tigers scored big time with this
freshman.
X FACTOR
Defender Sarah Vance started just four games for Princeton in '09, but she is expected to be a leader of the defense. Said Sailer: “She sees the game well. She reads it well and she makes good decisions with well-timed slides.”
RIVAL COACHES' TAKES
"They graduated a number of key contributors. It will take them time to find their identity."
"They’ll definitely have a different look."
