UConn Alum Begins Coaching Career at High Point

STORRS, Conn.-- Whitney Michele (East Rochester, N.Y.), a 2009 graduate of the University of Connecticut and member of the women's lacrosse team, joins the coaching staff of High Point University as an assistant, as announced by head coach Lyndsey Boswell. Michele will be an instrumental part to the program's transition to NCAA Division I competition in the spring of 2011.

Michele led the Huskies with 33 goals as a senior, finishing second in total points with 46 in the 2009 season. She was one of five student-athletes from the BIG EAST to earn a spot on the IWLCA/Under Armour North-South Senior All-Star game in June.

A team captain as a junior and senior, Michele started all 64 games of her collegiate career. She graduated third in career assists (55) and fifth in career points (152) in the Connecticut record books. Michele graduated with a bachelor's degree in marketing with a minor in business.
