Beard, No. 13 Buckeyes Pounce on Detroit

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio State women's lacrosse moved to 11-3 on the season with a 21-4 road win at Detroit Tuesday afternoon.
The Buckeyes, 2-0 in the American Lacrosse Conference, are ranked 12th by WomensLax.com, 13th by the IWLCA and 13th by Inside Lacrosse this week.
Jayme Beard scored the first two goals of the game and the Buckeyes took an 8-0 lead before Detroit found the scoreboard; the halftime score was 16-1. Beard had four goals and Rachel Hawes added three, while Kelly Haggerty and Alayna Markwordt supplied four assists each. Gabby Capuzzi, Olivia Annalora and Jacqueline Orona had two goals each, as 13 different Buckeye players scored at least one goal.
The Buckeyes play next at Penn State (Sun., April 19) and No. 1 Northwestern (Weds., April 22). The ALC Tournament begins April 30 at Penn State.
