W&M's Golden Girls Gets CAA Nod

After an outstanding set of performances in last week¹s contests against Richmond and No. 15 Penn State, sophomore midfielder Grace Golden has been selected as the Colonial Athletic Association Co-Player of the Week. She shares this week¹s honor with Hofstra's Sandy Wasserbach.

Golden finished the week with 10 points on a team-high seven goals and three assists. Additionally, the Manhasset, N.Y., native totaled a pair of ground balls, two draw controls and two caused turnovers.

Golden's best performance of the week came in the victory against Richmond, as she recorded a game-high six points on four goals and two assists. She followed up that effort with four points on three goals and an assist versus PSU. Golden also added a draw control, a ground ball and a pair of caused turnovers against the Nittany Lions.

Through nine games this season, Golden is currently tied for the team¹s lead with 21 goals while she ranks second on the squad with 27 points. Additionally, she has posted eight multi-goal efforts and is averaging 3.0 goals per game and 4.2 points per game during the last five contests.

The Tribe will return to action this weekend when it begins conference play with contests at Towson and Delaware.
