Eidem Scores Six in Detroit Win

DETROIT - The Detroit Titans women's lacrosse
squad returned to Titan Field Friday afternoon and did so in
winning fashion as UDM captured a 17-3 victory over Fresno State.
The 17-goal showing marks the second best goal total for Detroit
thus far this season.
The Titans (3-5) scored the first eight goals of the contest, with freshman Rachel Irurralde (South Lyon, MI/South Lyon) starting things off not even a minute into the contest. Freshman Anna Eidem (Champlin, MN/Totino-Grace), who ended with a game-high six goals, went on to net the game-winner at 23:17 off an assist from Iturralde. Freshman Corina Mahorn (Whitby, ON/Anderson CVI), who ended the afternoon with three goals, netted two in the first half, with the last at 11:49 to give Detroit an 8-0 advantage.
The Bulldogs' (0-7) three goals were all scored in the first half by sophomore Emily Erwin, sophomore Heather Jack and senior Aja Scheuber.
Eidem added to her goal total, twice, in the final minutes to give the Titans an 11-3 lead at the break.
Freshman Emily Boissonneault (Brooklin, ON/Donald A. Wilson) ended with a game second-best four goals, while seniors Liz Hardy (Clarkston, MI/Clarkston) and Megan Canty (Royal Oak, MI/Kimball) each found the back of the net once in 60 minutes of play.
Freshman Brett Yenger (Cincinnati, OH) improved her record to 3-5 in net as tallied 10 saves in 60 minutes of play, while Diana Aguilar earned the loss for Fresno State as she gave up four goals in 13 minutes of action.
Detroit had a slight advantage in ground balls, 33-30, and the Titans tallied 28 shots to the Bulldogs' 17.
UDM will return to action tomorrow when they host Presbyterian at Titan Field at 1 p.m.
