Kimener Scores Six in ODU Win

PHILADELPHIA  -- Seniors Kelly Kimener and Jessica Noone combined for eleven points on eight goals and three assists to lead the ODU Lady Monarchs (4-1) past St. Joseph's University (4-5) today. The game ended a three-game road swingthat saw the Lady Monarchs scoring 13 goals per game. Kimener scored a career-high six goals in the game and Noone added a career-high five points on two goals and three assists.

The Lady Monarchs jumped on top of the Hawks early in the first half, scoring four goals in the first six minutes to lead 4-1 and would never look back. St. Joe's pulled within one goal twice, clawing back to 4-3 and 8-7 deficits, but Old Dominion would pull away in the second half, scoring six of the first eight goals in the frame.

Saratu Dodo would have the eventual gamewinner with 16:20 remaining on a free-position shot after being fouled in the scoring area. Kimener would follow with two more in the game and freshman Lisa Bernardini added a second half goal as well. Junior Ashley Kellogg continues to score in bunches, with three goals and an assist, while Kimener and Noone led the way.

Kimener's six goals were a career-high, coming just two goals after she set a career-high in points with seven against UMBC. She is now tied with Melody Shotwell ('06) for eighth on the all-time goals list at ODU, with 98. She is also 8th on the all-time points list with 131.

Defensively, rookie goalkeeper Sarah Geary was fantastic between the pipes. She had a career-high 17saves while allowing just ten goals in the full sixty minutes. She made several great saves against the Hawks when St. Joseph's pressed late in the first half and remained efficient in the second half.

St. Joseph's was led by Jenna Martino, with three goals and an assist in the game. Two goalkeepers split time and each gave up seven to the Lady Monarchs. Grace Dinn and Helene Tursi added two goals each.
