SU Visits Northwestern; Rowan Ascends Ranks

EVANSTON, Ill. -- No. 8 Syracuse puts its three-game winning streak on the line when it takes on No. 1 Northwestern on Sunday in Evanston, Ill. Opening draw is set for 2 p.m. Eastern time. The Orange enters the game with a 6-1 mark, while the Wildcats are 8-0 this season.

 

THE SERIES
Sunday's game marks the seventh all-time between the Orange and Wildcats. Northwestern leads the series, 5-1.

SCOUNTING THE WILDCATS
Northwestern features an experienced lineup that includes 2008 Tewaaraton Trophy winner Hannah Nielsen. Nielsen leads the nation in scoring with 55 points on 24 goals and 31 assists. Hilary Bowen, a 2008 second-team All-American, leads the squad with 38 goals goals scored, while Danielle Spencer has 28 goals and eight assists. Morgan Lathrop is a four-year starter in goal for Northwestern. This season Lathrop has posted a 4.53 goals-against average and a .571 save percentage.

ROWAN JOINS ELITE COMPANY
Senior Katie Rowan has put her name alongside the elite names in women's lacrosse history. Rowan recorded seven points in the Orange's victory at Towson, giving her 325 points in her career. She is tied with Sheehan Stanwick for No. 10 on the NCAA Division I all-time scoring list.
