from press release

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Siena scored eight straight goals with three at the end of the first half and five at the start of the second half to take a 9-4 lead over Wagner with 18:04 remaining in the game. Siena went on to win 11-7 Wednesday afternoon at Siena Turf Field behind five goals from Lindsey Rosecrans and three each from Caitlin Mikel and Courtney Highsmith.

Wagner (1-5) jumped on Siena (5-1) early in the game. Kristin Concordiastopped three shots in the first five minutes to keep the game scoreless, but Wagner broke through at the 23:29 mark and built a 3-0 lead in the first 13 minutes.

Rosecrans scored her first goal of the game to draw Siena within two at the 12:10 mark, but Wagner's Melanie Garces scored three minutes later to put the Seahawks up 4-1.

Siena scored eight straight goals after that point, with Mikel scoring two and Rosecrans adding one before halftime.

The Saints scored five in a row to open the second half and take a 9-4 lead with 18:04 remaining in the game. Nine of Siena's goals came from individual efforts where Rosecrans, Mikel or Highsmith dodged and ran right past the Wagner defense.

Wagner inched back into the game with three goals to cut the deficit to 10-7 with 6:05 to play. But Highsmith scored a minute later and the Saints controlled the ball to close out the game.

Siena outshot Wagner 35-18 and was 16-for-18 on clears. Concordia made seven saves in the win while Alex Johnston made nine saves in the loss.
