Nike/LM MCLA Division II Preseason Top 20

by Lacrosse Magazine Staff | LaxMagazine.com | Twitter

Dayton finally broke through last year to clutch the national championship trophy after years of coming up short, and the expectation is the Flyers will make it two in a row as the top-ranked team in the Nike/Lacrosse Magazine Preseason Top 20.

But it certainly won't be easy. Grand Valley State, which won the whole enchilada in 2014, is lurking in Dayton's own conference, along with Siena Heights and Grove City.

The CCLA is atop the heap in MCLA Division II, but the UMLC is not too far behind. St. Thomas, St. John's and North Dakota State make for a formidable trio, and now long-time Division I power Minnesota-Duluth has joined the party. Throw in Concordia (Calif.), Western Washington, Missouri Valley, Florida Gulf Coast and Cal State Fullerton, and there are no guarantees for any team.
