Westminster (Utah) to Play Three Games on Break

The Westminster men's lacrosse team is back on the road for three
games in five days starting on Friday, February 26 at Boise
State. The trip continues on Sunday, February 28 in Portland,
Oregon against No. 13 Southern Oregon. They conclude the
spring break trip at No. 8 Western Oregon in Monmouth, Oregon.
The Griffins dropped four spots to No. 12 in the MCLA Top 23 poll
after going 1-1 at the MCLA Full House Face Off last weekend.
They are scoring 13.5 goals per game and have scored on 28.7% of
their shots. Westminster has controlled 61.4% of faceoffs and
went just 1-of-7 during man-up opportunities.
Josh Condas leads the team nine goals through the first two
games. Condas tallied seven goals against Western Washington
on February 20 in a 14-7 Westminster victory. Jake Arthur
scored six goals in the first two games and Roman Schoewe added
four goals. Arthur attempted a team-best 18 shots and tied
Condas with 13 shots on goal.
Dallas McLellan made 20 saves but suffered the loss against
UC-Santa Cruz in the season opener. Joe Illya started the
second game against Western Washington and picked up the win after
posting 17 saves. The two combined to stop 65.6% of shots by
the opposition during the opening weekend.
Last Week
The Westminster men's lacrosse team split two games at the
season opening MCLA Full House Face Off over the weekend. The
season began with a 14-13 loss in double overtime against No. 16
UC-Santa Cruz on Friday, February 19. The next day, No. 8
Westminster bounced back to defeat No. 19 Western Washington 14-7
in the consolation bracket.
Arthur was the Griffins lone representative on the All-Tournament
Team, making the squad at midfield. For a complete recap of the

Looking Ahead
Westminster returns to action on Wednesday, March 10 when
they start of stretch of three games against in-state rivals at
Brigham Young University. The Griffins will also welcome Utah
Valley to Dumke Field for the home opener on Saturday, March 13.
