Wolverines Take Top Spot in Two Pre-Season Polls
from press releases
ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Coming off back-to-back MCLA
National Championships, the University of Michigan Men's Lacrosse
team has earned the No. 1 spot in two pre-season polls. In
both the MCLA The Lax Mag and Lacrosse Magazine,
the Wolverines are heading into the 2010 campaign at the top of the
rankings.
Michigan has eight matchups amongst pre-season Top 25 teams,
including three in the top five: No. 2 Brigham Young, No. 4 Simon
Fraser, and No. 5 Arizona State. All three of those games
will occur in the first four weeks of the season for the Maize and
Blue.
The Wolverines are coming off back-to-back 20-0 MCLA National
Championship seasons and will look to capture their third straight
in spite of their difficult schedule. Michigan will need to
replace four starters lost to graduation, but are bringing in some
of the best young talent the program has seen in this year's
freshmen crop.
