Foderaro Named Head Coach at Greensboro

from press release

GREENSBORO, N.C. —Greensboro College Director of Athletics John Trice announced on Monday that Mike Foderaro has been named the new head coach for the Pride men's lacrosse program. Foderaro spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach at the University Of Mount Olive, a NCAA Division II program and member of the Conference Carolinas.

"Our staff and I are extremely excited to have Mike back at Greensboro College," Director of Athletics John Trice said. "His experience having been an integral part of nationally ranked program these past two years combined with his knowledge and previous involvement with Greensboro College Lacrosse as a player and coach made him a perfect fit. We look forward to Mike building on the Greensboro College Lacrosse tradition."

Foderaro was a part of the Trojans coaching staff since men's lacrosse was added to the varsity slate in the 2012-2013 season. During his time with the Trojans, Foderaro coached six all-conference selections and helped produce a defensive unit that was ranked second nationally in NCAA Division II lacrosse in man down situations and fourth in scoring defense. In the 2014 season, Foderaro helped lead the Trojans to a 13-3 overall mark and 3-1record in Conference Carolinas play earning the programs first ever national ranking of #15 in the USILA Division II Poll.

Foderaro played for the Pride men's lacrosse team from 2005 to 2009 before serving as an assistant coach for the 2010 and 2011 seasons. During his playing career with the Pride, Foderaro was named a team captain three times, while being named the team's most valuable player in each of his final two seasons. Foderaro has his name all over the Pride men's lacrosse record books for goalkeepers including third in career wins.

"I would like to thank President Czarda, Vice President Daniel, and Director of Athletics John Trice for giving me the opportunity to return to my Alma Mater," Foderaro said. "I feel honored to have the chance to give back to the Greensboro College family and look forward to working hard to continue the Lacrosse tradition alumni like myself are so proud of."

Foderaro takes over the reins of a Pride men's lacrosse team that finished their 2014 season with a 5-7 overall mark that included an exciting 14-13 victory over Ferrum College in the final game of the season.

A native of Salisbury, Maryland, Foderaro is married to former Amanda Johnson, a 2009 graduate and member of the Greensboro College women's soccer team from 2005-2008.
