Madden Added to Amherst Staff
from press release
AMHERST, Mass. - Amherst head coach Jon Thompson recently announced the addition of Rob Madden '07 to the men's lacrosse coaching staff for the 2012 season.
Madden returns to the Lord Jeffs after spending the last five years working for the Taft School in Watertown, Conn., where he also played lacrosse and soccer as a student.
"Rob's presence on the sideline is terrific," said Thompson. "He has a coach's eye and he is impacting the way that we can develop individual skills on both sides of the ball. He sees personnel issues and knows Amherst for all of its strengths. He will be an invaluable asset to the Amherst Lacrosse family."
A four-year letterwinner from 2004-07, Madden appeared in 58 games as a midfielder for the Jeffs, finishing his career with nine goals, two assists and 98 groundballs. Serving as one of the team's captains during his senior season, Madden helped lead Amherst to four one goal wins en route to a fourth-straight NESCAC Championship berth.
Also a member of the men's soccer team, he captained the 2006 squad to a 12-3-2 record and the team's first NCAA Tournament appearance in four years.
