USILA Division III Poll: Two Points Separates Gulls, Tigers at the Top

Gettysburg gained a spot this week, but more importantly, they earned one of the coveted at-large berths to the NCAA tournament. The Bullets play Scranton on Wednesday.

Check this page each Monday for the latest United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) poll and a LaxMagazine.com analysis of the rankings.

Who's Hot?

Trinity (+3): A one-goal loss to No. 9 Middlebury in the NESCAC semifinals was enough for a big boost for the Bantams to the No. 11 slot.

Tufts (+2): The loss to Bowdoin to end the regular season hurt the Jumbos, but the champs rebounded by winning the NESCAC title and regaining their spot in the Top 5.

Who's Not?

Skidmore (-5): The Thoroughbreds went from the presumptive favorite to winning the Liberty League to having their bubble burst after losing to RPI in the conference semis.

Stevens (-3): The Ducks beat Nazareth in the regular season by 13 goals, but the Flyers tripped up Stevens in the E8 semis by a goal. That discrepancy sent the Quackers tumbling.

Who's New?

No. 18 Bowdoin: After beating No. 5 Tufts in the regular season finale, No. 10 Amherst in the first round of the NESCAC tournament and then taking the Jumbos to the final tenths of a second in the conference semis, the Polar Bears re-enter the poll.
