CAC Announces All-Conference Teams

from press release

YORK, Pa.
- Salisbury and Stevenson, CAC teams that were both ranked No. 1 in the country in the last month, combined for 17 out of 27 positions on the 2011 All-CAC men's lacrosse team. Salisbury gained 10 all-star nods, including six first-team berths, while Stevenson placed seven on the All-CAC squad, led by 2011 Player of the Year Jimmy Dailey (Westminster, Md./Winter Mills).

Dailey, a four-time first-team CAC all-star and former conference Rookie of the Year, led a group of nine players that are repeat All-CAC selections on the 2011 first-team squad. He is the first Mustang to ever win the CAC Men's Lacrosse Player of the Year award and snaps a string of 16-straight years the award was presented to a Salisbury player. During that streak, Marymount's Brian Rosenberger shared the award with Salisbury's Jason Tarnow (1998).

Frostburg State's Ryan Serio (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) and Stevenson's Ryan Rubenstein (Sykesville, Md./Boy's Latin) were selected by the CAC coaches as the Co-Rookies of the Year. Serio is the first Rookie of the Year for Frostburg State, which is completing its first season as a member of the CAC. Rubenstein joins Dailey as the only Mustangs to gain the CAC Rookie of the Year award.

Hood's Jeremy Mattoon and Mary Washington's Kurt Glaeser were picked as the Co-Coaches of the Year. Mattoon led the Blazers to their first-ever CAC post-season berth while Glaeser captured his third career CAC Men's Lacrosse Coach of the Year award after leading the Eagles to third place in the regular season.

Dailey was joined on the All-CAC first-team by fellow Mustangs Neal Barthelme (Towson, Md./Dulaney) on the attack, midfielder Kyle Moffitt (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin East), defender Evan Douglass (Exeter, N.H./Exeter) and short stick specialist Ray Witte (Annapolis, Md./St. Peter & Paul). Douglass is making his third consecutive first-team all-star appearance while Moffitt and Witte are two-time first-team honorees.

Representing Stevenson on the All-CAC second team, each for the first time, are freshman midfielder Tony Rossi (Towson, Md./Calvert Hall) and senior defender Kyle Menendez (Cockeysville, Md./St. Paul's).

Salisbury players captured six of 14 first-team All-CAC positions, led by juniors Matt Cannone (Bayport, N.Y./Bethpage) and Sam Bradman (Canton, N.Y./Canton). Cannone is a three-time All-CAC choice, including Rookie of the Year in 2009, while Bradman repeats as a first-team honoree and was the 2010 CAC Player of the Year.

Senior midfielder Shawn Zordani (Littleton, Colo./Heritage), senior defenders Nick Mooney (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) and Collin Tokosch (Arnold, Md./Broadneck) as well as senior goalie Johnny Rodriguez (Gambrills, Md./Mt. St. Joseph) also represented Salisbury on the 2011 All-CAC first team. Tokosch and Rodriguez were also 2010 All-CAC first-team choices.

Four Sea Gulls were also picked for the 2011 All-CAC second team, including junior attackmen Erik Krum (Manhattan Beach, Calif./Mira Costa) and Tony Mendes (Chapel Hill, N.C./East Chapel Hill), junior long-stick middie Andrew Sellers (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley) and sophomore short stick specialist Tyler Granelli (North Salem, N.Y./John Jay). Sellers is making his second-straight appearance on the All-CAC second team.

Coach Glaeser was joined on the 2011 All-CAC squad by three Eagles, including first-team senior midfielder Kohl Meyer (Shawnee, N.J./Shawnee) and second-team juniors Harry Snyder (Charlottesville, Va./St. Anne's-Belfield) and Will Devlin (Chapel Hill, N.C./East Chapel Hill). All three are first-time All-CAC honorees.

St. Mary's and York also gained three All-CAC nods while Wesley picked up one all-star berth.
SMC senior attack Dennis Rosson (Severna Park, Md./Severn) earned his fourth-straight All-CAC award and the first appearance on the all-star first team. Rosson and Dailey are the only four-time All-CAC honorees on the 2011 squad.

Junior first-team long stick midfielder Peter Windsor (Towson, Md./St. Paul's) and junior second-team defender Eric Heisner (Collegeville, Pa./La Salle College H.S.) also earned post-season nods for St. Mary's.

Three York players earned second-team recognition for the first time in their careers, including senior attack Josh Gamble (Easton, Md./Easton), sophomore midfielder John Dubois (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) and junior keeper Tyler Powell (Pasadena, Md./Archbishop Spalding). Wesley's junior midfielder Eric Crumbock (Levittown, Pa./Truman) also earned a second-team berth in the vote of the conference coaches.
