RIT Beats Oswego, Eyes No. 1 Ranking

OSWEGO, N.Y. - The No. 2 RIT men's lacrosse team tied the record for longest winning streak in program history with an 11-5 win at SUNY Oswego on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers match the winning streak of 13 straight games that was set back in 1985.
Junior A.J. Tingle (Cary, NC/Green Hope) scored a career-high four goals to pace the Tigers offense. Tyler Russell (Livonia, NY/Livonia) added two goals and two assists, while Chris Cherami (Olwick, NJ/Seton Hall Prep) tallied a pair of goals. Senior Jordan MacIntosh (Oakville, ON/Holy Trinity) dished out four assists for the Tigers who are now 13-0 on the season.
Bob Tonnessen (Ridgefield, CT/Ridgefield) improved to 13-0 on the season allowing one goal and making 12 saves. Freshman Anthony Deleo (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua Academy) played the fourth quarter allowing four goals and making two saves.
RIT outshot the Lakers 37-29 and won the ground ball battle 30-28. The Tigers won 9-of-19 face-offs and were 16-of-21 on clears. RIT went 3-for-5 with the extra man while holding Oswego to no goals in six extra man attempts.
After allowing the first goal of the game, RIT's offense woke up scoring eight straight goals to end the half leading 8-1. Tingle led the Tigers, scoring three of his four goals in the first half. Cherami and Russell each had two goals.
Kelso Davis (Freeport, ME/Deerfield Academy) and Tingle scored the only goals in the third quarter to extend the Tigers lead to 10-1.
Taylor Wisman (Seattle, WA/Inglemoor) scored RIT's lone goal in the fourth quarter to extend their lead to 11-1.
RIT returns to conference action on Wednesday, April 27 at Utica College. Face-off is at 4 pm.
