Marywood's Habich Earns ECAC Award

CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Marywood University men's lacrosse player Jesse Habich has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Region Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending April 3rd according to an announcement made today. The senior goalie becomes the first Marywood lacrosse player to be honored by the conference after leading the Pacers to a 13-1 win in the team's Colonial States Athletic Conference opener against Immaculata University on Saturday evening.
Habich, who was named the Colonial States Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday, was outstanding in Marywood's cage on Saturday's conference-opener making 14 saves and allowing just one goal to lead the Pacers to the victory. The senior has allowed just one goal in his last 90:43 of play in Marywood's goal as the Pacers' have allowed just two goals in their past two games, both victories.
Habich has started all nine of the Pacers' games this season and has posted a 6-3 record. In over 460 minutes in Marywood's cage, the 2010 First Team All-Conference selection has made 90 saves for a .672 save percentage and sports a 5.72 goals-against average, both ranking him atop the CSAC's statistical leaders heading into Wednesday afternoon's home conference game against Centenary College.
