from press release

YORK, Pa. – The Capital Athletic Conference released its weekly awards on Monday and the No. 3-ranked Salisbury University men's lacrosse team swept the Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards.

Junior attackman Erik Krum was named the Offensive Player of the Week, while senior goalkeeper Johnny Rodriguez earned Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Krum recorded seven points in a pair of Sea Gull victories over the last week, including three goals in the 8-2 win over No. 12 Gettysburg College on Saturday at Sea Gull Stadium. The Manhattan Beach, Calif., native also tallied four goals in the 14-2 midweek victory over McDaniel College on Wednesday.

Rodriguez improved to 5-0 between the pipes for the Sea Gulls this season, as he totaled 18 saves in the two non-conference victories. In the game at McDaniel, Rodriguez recorded a shutout performance in 34 minutes of action for the maroon and gold. The Gambrills, Md., native followed that up with a season-high 16 saves in the win over Gettysburg. The senior also picked up five ground balls in the win over the Bullets.

The Sea Gulls are set to host the Battling Bishops of Ohio Wesleyan University this Saturday at Sea Gull Stadium. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
