Hoff, Hornets Subdue OWU

LYNCHBURG, Va. - Junior attack Dylan Hoff (Chester Springs, PA/Downingtown East) scored three times Saturday afternoon and added three assists as the Lynchburg College men's lacrosse team posted a 10-3 victory over Ohio Wesleyan University in non-conference play.

Max Voumard (Cape May, NJ/St. Augustine Prep) found the back of the net twice for the Hornets in the first half and senior midfield Eddie Bilinkas (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) scored a goal in each half. Andrew Wilfong (Columbus, OH/Worthington Kilbourne), Josh Davey (Owings Mills, MD/Owings Mills) and Joe Lisicky (Chadds Ford, PA/Unionville) each had a goal apiece, and Derek Sweet (Duxbury, MA/Duxbury) had a pair of assists.

Colin Short scored two goals for the Bishops (1-1).

Lynchburg controlled the ball much of the game, aided by Jeff Schwartz (New City, NY/The Tabor Academy) winning 11 of his 14 face-offs and added five ground balls. Franc Cook (Milton, DE/Cape Henlopen) made 11 saves in 60 minutes in the net. The Hornets were successful in 19 of their 20 clear attempts, while Ohio Wesleyan cleared the ball 17 times in 20 opportunities.

The Hornets (1-1) host Marywood University for another non-conference game on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
