Kazimer Repeats as Attackman of the Year

BALTIMORE, Md. - For the second-straight year, Stevenson
men's lacrosse senior Steve Kazimer (Syracuse, N.Y./Henninger) was
named as the Division III recipient of the USILA Lt. Col. J.I.
Turnbull Award which is presented annually to the nation's
Outstanding Attackman.
Kazimer joins Jack Harmatuk of LeMoyne who was selected as the
recipient in Division II.
A three-time All-America selection and two-time first team honoree,
Kazimer led the Mustangs to a final No. 1 ranking and the
semifinals of the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship for
the second consecutive season. He set a new school record with 95
points in 2010 and finished his career ranked second with 247
points and 131 assists.
One of the greatest players to ever play, Lt. Col. Turnbull was an
All-American at Johns Hopkins. He was a club player at Mt.
Washington and a member of both the 1932 U.S. Olympic Team and the
1937 English Touring Team. He was elected into the Lacrosse Hall of
Fame in 1965.
Chris DeLuca of Cortland was selected as the recipient of the
Iroquois National Award as the Outstanding Player in Division III
while Salisbury's Sam Bradman received the Fran McCall Award as the
nation's Outstanding Midfielder, the fourth-straight year it has
gone to a Sea Gull.
Roanoke's Steve Simmons was named the Long Pole Midfielder of the
Year while the Maroons' Sam Love received the William C. Stiles
Memorial Award as the nation's Outstanding Defensive Player.
Dennis Costanza of SUNY Geneseo was selected as the recipient of
the Ensign C. Markland Kelly, Jr. Award as the Outstanding Goalie
in Division III and Tom Burke of Cortland won the Specialty Award.
