LEXINGTON, Va.
– The seventh-ranked Roanoke College men's lacrosse team used a four-goal run over the third period to produce a 10-8 victory over 16th-ranked Washington and Lee on Wednesday evening at Wilson Field.

The two teams played a back-and-forth first half en route to a 5-5 tie at the break. The Generals (9-4, 3-2) claimed a 6-5 lead on an unassisted goal by senior midfielder Kevin Feeney (Summit, N.J./Summit) just 1:05 into the third quarter, but Roanoke (11-2, 5-0) senior attackman Ashton Hotchkiss (Darien, Conn./Darien) started the four-goal run with a goal off an assist from first-year attackman Richard Lachlan (Port Coquitlam, B.C./Terry Fox Secondary) at the 9:14 mark. Lachlan then assisted on a goal by senior attackman Matt Quinton (Elora, Ont./Kitchener Braves) just 11 seconds later and the Maroons added two more unanswered tallies for a 9-6 lead entering the fourth period.

The Generals crept to within 9-7 on a man-up goal by senior midfielder Drew Koeneman (St. Louis, Mo./MICDS) off a feed from senior attackman Will Keigler (Timonium, Md./Gilman), but Roanoke responded with another goal just 1:44 later for a 10-7 advantage with 6:42 remaining. Junior attackman Spence Daw (Phoenix, Md./Loyola-Blakefield) scored with seven seconds remaining for the final margin.

Keigler led W&L with two goals and two assists, while senior midfielder Max Mancuso (Northport, N.Y./Northport) and Feeney each scored two goals. Koeneman added one goal and one assist and senior goalkeeper Matt Mason (Gladwyne, Pa./St. Mark's) played 58:49 in goal and notched 11 saves.

Hotchkiss and Lachlan paced the Maroons with two goals and one assist each, while sophomore attackman Jeff Keating (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) chipped in two goals. Senior Jake Dorsey (Woodbine, Md./Mt. St. Joseph) played 59:40 in goal and stopped nine shots.
