CC's Bishop, Sprole Rack Up SCAC Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Senior midfielder Kyle
Bishop and junior attacker Hunter Sprole of the Colorado College
men's lacrosse team were named Southern Collegiate Athletic
Conference Players of the Week for their performances during
Saturday's 27-0 victory over Southwestern University.
Bishop, who earned the defensive honor for the second time this
season, grabbed a career-high 10 ground balls and won 14 of 15
faceoffs against the Pirates.
On two occasions, Bishop won a draw, picked up the ground ball and
scored an unassisted goal less than 10 seconds after CC's previous
score. He also recorded his first assist of the season.
Bishop leads the SCAC, averaging of 5.50 ground balls per game.
Sprole received the offensive award for the first time after
recording a career-high six points and tying his career best of
four goals during the first half against Southwestern.
His first goal 1:45 into the contest proved to be the second game
winner of his career.
Sprole has scored at least twice and finished with four or more
points in five of six games. He already has set personal
single-season highs with 17 goals and 27 points.
Sprole is tied for second in the conference, averaging 1.67 assists
per game, and is third at 2.5 goals and 4.17 points per game.
The Tigers make their first of two consecutive trips to Ohio this
weekend to face Kenyon College and The College of Wooster on
Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
