COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Junior goaltender Brendan
Haas and sophomore attacker Moses Taylor were named Players of the
Week by the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference after leading
Colorado College to a split in its two games last week.
Haas earned the defensive honor after he stopped seven of 10 shots
during CC's 13-3 victory over Fontbonne University. His .700 saves
percentage against the Griffins was a season best while the three
goals allowed were his fewest this season.
Haas recorded seven saves on 17 shots during the Tigers' 10-9 loss
to McDaniel College on Tuesday.
Taylor was the offensive choice after he struck for three goals and
added five assists to help the Tigers defeat Fontbonne on Saturday.
He had a hand in six scores during the third period when CC
exploded for eight consecutive goals to break open a tight game.
Taylor's second tally of the game 4:23 into the second half proved
to be the game winner.
Taylor had a pair of goals during Tuesday's 10-9 loss to McDaniel
College.
Haas and Taylor are the second Colorado College players to receive
each award.
Carson Christman received the offensive award and Kyle Bishop
earned the defensive honor after leading the Tigers to
season-opening victories at Notre Dame de Namur University and
Dominican University of California.
