No. 13 Nazareth Blows Out No. 12 Bowdoin

DALLAS, Texas -- The Nazareth men's lacrosse
team scored eight unanswered goals in the second and third quarters
to pull away from 12th-ranked Bowdoin in an 11-4 victory on
Wednesday afternoon in Texas. The 13th-ranked Golden Flyers improve
to 3-1 while the Polar Bears lose their second-straight game and
dip to 2-1.
Russell Halliday scored all four Bowdoin goals while Nazareth was
paced by four tallies and two assists from Joe
Jacobs-Ferderbar.
Tied at two early in the second quarter, Ferderbar scored a pair
of goals to spark the decisive Nazareth run. The Golden Flyers
scored five straight goals to finish the opening half and started
the second half with three more, including a pair from Scott Castle
to take a 10-2 lead into the final quarter. By the time Halliday
scored again with 13:54 to go, Bowdoin had gone scoreless for over
29 minutes of game time.
Jake McCampbell stopped seven shots in 45 minutes, allowing 10
goals. Robert Burkhardt made one save and permitted one goal in the
final 15.
Todd Dermody made 20 stops in net for the Golden Flyers, who were out-shot (40-39), trailed in face-offs (13-5 Bowdoin) and ground balls (26-25 Bowdoin).
