from press release

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Keene State College men’s lacrosse team lost a 17-10 game to No. 6 ranked Geneseo (N.Y.) State at Disney’s Wild World of Sports Complex in Orlando on Wednesday.

Sophomore Griffin Meehan (Simsbury, Conn.) collected four goals and two assists and sophomore Matt Schairer (Wrentham, Mass.) scored two goals for the Owls (2-3), who have dropped their last two games.

Junior Craig Lange paced the attack for Geneseo (4-0) with two goals and five assists and sophomore Brendan Kurpis added four goals and two helpers.

Keene State fell behind 10-2 at the half.  “They came out really hard and it took us awhile to adjust,” said KSC Coach Mark Theriault.  “I thought we played better in the second half and were able to outscore them.”

Freshman Jason Lesser (Brewster, N.Y.) started in goal for KSC and made three saves before giving way to Junior Alec Corliss (Waltham, Mass.) early in the second quarter.  Corliss finished with nine saves.

Keene State hosts Bowdoin College on March 23.
