Parks First Marywood Player to Hit 100 Points
from press release
SCRANTON, Pa. – Nick Parks tallied his 100th career
point when he scored the game-winning goal in Marywood University'
8-7 win over Wesley College on Sunday afternoon to become the first
Pacer ever to reach the 100-point plateau. The junior attackman
leads Marywood in scoring with 13 points on seven goals and six
assists.
Parks (Emmaus, PA) recorded four goals and one assist in Sunday's
game to finish the contest with five points. His milestone point
couldn't have come at a better time, as he scored on a
behind-the-back shot after taking a feed from George Downey IV
(Broomall) to give Marywood an 8-6 lead with 3:33 to play. Despite
surrendering a goal with just over a minute to play, the Pacers
held off the Wolverines' rally to earn that win.
Parks recorded 26 goals and 10 assists as a freshman, leading the
team in goals and points as Marywood clinched a berth in the
conference playoffs in the program's inaugural season. As a
sophomore, Parks netted 25 goals and 26 assists while leading the
team to the CSAC Championship game while being named Second Team
All-Conference. In five games this year, the junior has 13 points
on seven goals and six helpers to bring his career totals to 58
goals and 42 assists.
Marywood, currently 4-1 on the season, returns to action on
Saturday when they visit Penn State-Abington for a non-conference
game scheduled to face-off at 1:00 p.m.
