WAC's Wilson Gets Baltimore HOF Nod

BALTIMORE, Md. - Former Washington College
lacrosse player and two-time first-team All-American Matt
Wilson '89 will be inducted into the US Lacrosse Greater
Baltimore Chapter Hall of Fame on January 23rd. Wilson, who was
inducted into the Washington College Hall of Fame in 2003, was an
outstanding defenseman for the Shoremen and helped lead them to
four consecutive NCAA Division III Tournament berths. Following
graduation, he continued his lacrosse career as a professional
player.
Wilson was named the NCAA Division III Defenseman of the year in
1988, the first of two consecutive years that he was named to the
USILA's All-America first team. Wilson also represented Washington
College in the annual North-South Senior All-Star Game in 1989.
During Wilson's four years playing for the Shoremen, the team
posted a record of 45-20.
Wilson went on two play in the Major Indoor Lacrosse League for six
years - two each with Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and Philadelphia. He
also played with the Mt. Washington Field Lacrosse Club from 1991
through 1995 and received two invitations to try out for the U.S.
National Team.
In addition to his prowess on the lacrosse field, Wilson was also a
standout basketball player at Washington College, starting at power
forward and playing for two teams that competed in the NCAA
Division III Tournament.
