W&L Tabs Men's, Women's Assistant Coaches
from press release
WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Washington & Jefferson
Director of Athletics Bill Dukett has announced the hiring of five
new assistant coaches for the 2009-2010 school year. For lacrosse,
they include Geoff Marks takes over as the assistant men's coach,
while Ceri Miller has been named as the Presidents' assistant field
hockey and women's lacrosse coach.
Marks comes to W&J after graduating from Washington and Lee
University in the spring of 2009 with a degree in business
administration. He was a starting midfielder on the
nationally-ranked Washington and Lee men's lacrosse team his first
three seasons, but due to a career-ending ACL injury spent his
senior season on the coaching staff as a student assistant. He has
also served as the head coach of the Summit Lacrosse (N.J.)
program's summer team from 2005 to 2009.
Miller arrives at W&J after graduating from McDaniel College in
the spring of 2008 with a degree in exercise science and physical
education. She also completed her master's degree in exercise
science and physical education at McDaniel during the 2008-09
school year. Miller played one year of varsity lacrosse at C.W.
Post, before transferring to McDaniel for her final three years.
She was a three-year letter winner at McDaniel and was named the
team's MVP during the 2009 season. In addition, Miller served as a
coaching intern during her senior season. She gained practical
experiences in practice planning, film breakdown, recruiting and
budget management.
