from press release

RINDGE, N.H. – The #4 men's lacrosse team took on the Ravens of Franklin Pierce earlier this afternoon in a Northeast-10 Conference contest. After leading by one at the end of the third, the Panthers used a five-goal fourth to come away with a 10-5 victory. With the win, Adelphi remains perfect at 4-0, 2-0 NE-10 while Franklin Pierce drops to 1-3, 0-2 NE-10.

Nick Watson poured in four goals and added one assist for five points on the day. Ikerson Hopper chipped in with two goals while Salvatore Tuttle had an even split of two points. Vinny Coiro, Joe Celano and Cory Stavis each added a goal while Joseph Sciara and Patrick Starke were credited with one assist each.

Gregory Puskuldjian went 8-10 from the face off while teammate Rashad Cureton was equally impressive, winning 7-9 and scooping up a team high six ground balls. Eric Janssen picked up the win as he made 13 stops and allowed just three scores in the first half of action while Aidan Bennardo closed out the final two periods with six saves and two goals allowed.

For the Ravens, Casey Burnett found the back of the cage twice and handed out two assists while the squad rounded out the rest of their goals with efforts from Bryan Bourque, Kevin Dargin and Erik Kelly; all scoring one. Goalie Don Denman made 21 saves but suffered the loss as he allowed all 10 goals.

The Panthers registered double digit shot attempts in each frame, totaling 48 while Franklin Pierce attempted just 38. Adelphi also scooped up more ground balls, 45 to 42 and won 15-19 face offs.

Franklin Pierce's Burnett struck first with an unassisted goal at the 10:58 mark, but Adelphi's Watson responded with an unassisted score of his own less than two minutes later. Bourque and Hopper exchanged goals to close out the first frame, 2-2.

Watson and Celano put in the first two goals of the second period while the Raven's Kelly got one back on a man up opportunity to send the game into halftime, 4-3 in favor of Adelphi.

Each squad exchanged scores in the third to keep it a one goal game, but four unanswered goals in the final 15 minutes would prove to be the end for Franklin Pierce. Tuttle, Hopper and Stavis all scored within 2:30 of each other to grow their lead to 8-4. Burnett's goal at the 3:45 mark cut the deficit two four, but Coiro and Watson's goals within the final minute put the exclamation point on the game as the Panthers notched their fourth victory of the season.

The Stickmen are back in action on Tuesday, March 26 when they host the Setters of Pace University at 4pm.
