Sherman Named St. Andrews Head Coach

from press release

LAURINBURG, N.C.
- The St. Andrews Athletic Department is pleased to announce that Christopher Sherman has been appointed the new Men's Lacrosse Head Coach, effective immediately. Sherman initially joined the St. Andrews staff in the summer of 2010 as the Assistant Coach for the team.

Sherman is in his second consecutive season as a member of the lacrosse coaching staff at St. Andrews, after spending a year working with the Washington Stealth lacrosse program. His time spent as the Program Director/Head Coach for the Snohomish Lacrosse Club in Snohomish, Washington, and as the Regional Director for WALAX.com, based in Seattle, gave Sherman excellent experience that will aid in his efforts to move the Knights Lacrosse program forward.

"Coach Sherman is an excellent fit for the head coach position. I have had the opportunity to know Chris as a student, an athlete, a young man, and a successful professional. I have the upmost confidence that he is the right person for the position. St. Andrews and I look forward to seeing where Coach Sherman can take the program," said Glenn Batten, Director of Athletics at St. Andrews University.

The Maryland native is a 2005 graduate of St. Andrews, where he earned a BA in Politics. At the beginning of his collegiate career, Sherman was a member of the Limestone College 2000 NCAA Division II National Championship squad, for which he was recently inducted into the Limestone College Athletics Hall of Fame. Sherman then attended Harford Community College before transferring to St. Andrews to play his final two seasons of collegiate lacrosse.

The St. Andrews Athletic Department would like to congratulate Coach Sherman on his promotion and wish him luck in the upcoming season, as he takes the reins for the program.
