Farmer Brothers on Fire in Mars Hill Victory

MARS HILL, N.C. -- The Farmer brothers combined
for eight goals and George Hastings recorded his career high three
assists as the No. 10 Lions defeated Lees-McRae College, 15-3,
Wednesday night in the Ammons Family Athletic Center and Meares
Stadium. Mars Hill improved to 6-3 overall while the Bobcats fell
to an even 3-3 on the season.
Tyler Farmer (Calgary Alberta) and Danny Farmer (Calgary, Alberta)
scored four goals apiece to pace the Lions offense. Danny Farmer
added a pair of assists. Hastings (Severn, Md.) recorded one goal
and three assists while Eric Benesch (Bloomingdale, Ontario)
supplied the Lions with two scores. Dylan Price played 50:05 in
goal for MHC and made 10 saves.
Brett Yusiewicz, Danny Ives and Brad Garner each scored a goal for
the Bobcats. Andy Nesdill played 58:26 in goal for LMC and made 12
saves.
The Lions blanked the Bobcats in the first quarter, 4-0 and then
won the second frame 3-1 to take a 7-1 advantage into the locker
room at the intermission. MHC took 25 shots in the opening
half.
After only out scoring LMC 2-1 in the third stanza, Mars Hill
exploded for six goals (6-1) in the last quarter to make the final
tally, 15-3.
Mars Hill out shot LMC, 46-22. The ground ball battle was even at
22-all as well as face-offs as each team won 10. LMC was 1-9 on
extra man opportunities while MHC went 1-4.
Mars Hill will play at Pfeiffer University on March 27. Game time
in Misenheimer, N.C. is set for 2 p.m.
