from press releass
HIGH POINT, N.C. - Limestone College junior
midfielder Brian Patridge (Columbus, OH / Dublin Scioto HS) has
been named the Conference Carolinas men's lacrosse player of the
week, as announced by the league on Tuesday.
Patridge totaled four points on Friday in the nationally
fifth-ranked Saints' 16-5 win over NCAA Division II South Region
foe Florida Southern at "The Rock". Patridge, who assisted on
one goal in the game, added three goals of his own and has scored
six in leading Limestone to back-to-back wins to open the 2010
season.
This marks the second consecutive week that a Limestone player has
earned this honor. Last week, the first of the season,
midfielder/face-off specialist Sean Bennett (East Moriches, N.Y. /
Westhampton Beach HS) was recognized for his efforts in the Saints'
15-2 season opening win over Wingate (2/20). The 6-2, 200lb
Bennett won 15 of his 16 face-off attempts (.938%) serving as the
catalyst as Limestone won 20-of-21 overall on the day. He
also added six groundballs in helping the Saints to a 43-10
advantage in that category.
Limestone (2-0) returns to action on Sunday, March 7 with a
showdown against second-ranked Le Moyne (1-0) in Severna Park (HS),
Maryland with face-off set for 12:00 p.m.
