Face-Off for a Cause Boasts Full Schedule

ORLANDO - The Samaritan Team and Wounded
Warrior Project have joined forces to present the Third Annual Face
Off For A Cause that will take place Feb. 12-13 at various
locations around Orlando.
Face Off For A Cause is an awareness and fundraising lacrosse
event that benefits the Wounded Warrior Project. For the last
two years, Face Off For A Cause has taken place in Jacksonville and
raised needed funds for the Wounded Warrior Project and severely
wounded veterans. Both college and high school teams have
participated in previous years, including NCAA Division I's
Maryland and Air Force and Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association's
(MCLA) Florida State and Clemson.
This year's Face Off For A Cause begins on Friday, Feb. 12 with 12
high school games taking place at five various locations.
There will be 24 high schools from around Florida making the trip
to Orlando to participate in this event.
The college portion of Face Off For A Cause takes place on
Saturday, Feb. 13 at Boone High School. NCAA Division II's
New York Tech and Limestone begin the day with a match up at 12
noon. Florida State and Central Florida of the MCLA will face
off at 2 p.m.
NCAA Division II's Florida Southern and Rollins will meet at 4
p.m., in what is also a Deep South Conference game. The event
concludes with a game between the MCLA's Auburn and Florida at 6
p.m. Each of the college teams will be paired with an
honorary team captain that has served, was wounded in combat and is
an alumnus of the Wounded Warrior Project.
Tickets for Face Off For A Cause are currently on sale for $20 are
good for both Friday and Saturday. Tickets can be purchased
before Feb. 12 or at the various locations. To purchase prior

Boone High School (Orlando, Fla.) - Winter Park vs. The Bolles
School, 4 p.m.; Oviedo vs. Barron Collier, 6 p.m.; Boone vs.
Creekside, 8 p.m.
Hagerty High School (Oviedo, Fla.) - Lake Highland vs. Winter
Springs, 4 p.m.; St. Andrew's vs. Lake Brantley, 6 p.m.; Ponte
Vedra vs. Hagerty, 8 p.m.
Lake Howell High School (Winter Park, Fla.) - Boca High vs. Tampa
Plant, 4 p.m.; Tampa-Freedom vs. Palm Beach Gardens, 6 p.m.; Lake
Howell vs. Mantanzas, 8 p.m.
