Albany's Blaze Riorden Named Epoch/LM Player of the Week

Big-Game Blaze Riorden confounded Cornell again. No highlight-variety goalie goal this time. Just a masterful 18-save performance to earn Epoch/Lacrosse Magazine Player of the Week honors.

Riorden, who may always be remembered for going coast-to-coast against the Big Red in the 2015 NCAA tournament, made nine saves in the fourth quarter to keep Cornell at bay in the Great Danes' 12-8 victory. The Big Red managed just one fourth-quarter goal.

"We fed off his energy," Albany coach Scott Marr said.

The Great Danes are back in action Tuesday at UMass.
