Detroit Mercy Wins, Awaits MAAC Tournament Fate

from press release

Junior Shayne Adams tied his season high with six goals and his career-high with seven points and the University of Detroit Mercy men's lacrosse team did what it needed to do with an 11-6 road victory at Monmouth on Saturday afternoon.

The win moved Detroit to 6-7 on the year and 3-3 in the MAAC as the red, white and blue will now have to scoreboard watch tonight and hope Marist defends its' home field and beats Canisius, giving the Titans a No. 3 seed in the MAAC Championship. A win by Canisius and UDM will finish fifth in the conference and will not make the MAAC Tournament.

Junior Mike Birney tallied two goals and senior Tom Masterson added a goal and two assists. Freshman Jason Weber made 18 saves and senior Tyler Corcoran tied his career high by going 11-of-21 in faceoffs.
