Navy Game Notes

A pair of teams both looking for their first league win in the early season, Navy and Holy Cross battle at Annapolis' Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Navy holds a 9-1 advantage in the all-time series, but the one victory on the Crusaders' side came last year, a 7-5 win at New York's Citi Field. In that game, Terry McKenna led Holy Cross with four goals, and the midfielder leads the team through three games this spring with seven goals and two assists, one more than Sean Wilkinson (5G, 3A).

Since a close loss to No. 20 St. Johns in its opener (15-13), Holy Cross has dropped a pair of lopsided contests against league foe Loyola (16-4) and Harvard (17-9) to come into Saturday at 0-3.

Navy opened with an 18-5 win over VMI but has dropped its last two, falling to Georgetown 9-8 in overtime and then falling at Bucknell in a Patriot League contest 9-6. Sam Jones leads the Mids with seven goals and seven assists, with Brady Dove coming in at a healthy 62% clip facing off.
