Air Force Will Face Five NCAA Tournament Teams
from press release
USAFA, Colo. – Featuring five games against 2012 NCAA Tournament participants, including a match-up with defending national champion Loyola Maryland at Sports Authority Field, the 2013 Air Force lacrosse schedule was announced by head coach Eric Seremet.
The Falcons begin the year on Feb. 8, as they visit North Carolina, a perennial NCAA participant from the ACC. They wrap up the weekend in the Tar Heel State on Feb. 10, with a game at first-year program High Point. On Feb. 16, Air Force will travel to Syracuse, N.Y., to play a neutral-site game in the Carrier Dome for the third-straight year, taking on Rutgers. The Falcons will play their next two games in a neutral location as well, traveling to Denver, Colo., for the annual DU Face-Off Classic, Feb. 23-24, where they will take on a pair of 2012 NCAA participants in Canisius and Lehigh.
Air Force's first home game of the season is slated for March 2, as the Falcons host another first-year program in the Big East's Marquette. They open conference play on March 9 with a game at Bellarmine, before returning to Colorado on March 16 to host Loyola Maryland as part of the Mile High Classic, being held at Sports Authority Field in Denver.
On March 23, the Falcons visit in-state and conference rival Denver, which has advanced to the NCAA Tournament in each of the last three seasons. Air Force follows with its first-ever game at conference foe Michigan on March 30 and a game at Mercer on April 6.
After playing its final road game of the season at ECAC opponent Fairfield on April 13, Air Force wraps up its regular-season slate with a pair of home conference games, hosting Ohio State (April 20) and Hobart (April 27). The top four teams in the ECAC will then earn spots in the conference tournament, slated for May 2 and 4, in Geneva, N.Y.
